The International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) has announced a public review of version 3 of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide). This is an exciting release for the Decision Management community.
- Decision Modeling has been added as a technique using the Decision Model and Notation (DMN) standard.
- The Business Process Modeling perspective has a solid focus on decisions as peers to business processes and on decisions as a way to embed business rules in business process.
- The Business Intelligence perspective has a nice focus on requirements for more advanced kinds of analytics and makes great use of the decision modeling technique in this context as well as having a more general focus on the importance of modeling decisions so BI can help.
